From ancient times to the present day, housing serves to protect human body and mind, and it is the basic environment for promoting comfortable living.
Ancient housing which started from natural caves has been developed to current intelligent houses which are equipped with state of the art facilities and make our lives comfortable, convenient and efficient.
For comfortable and efficient living, modern science and engineering play important roles. They are necessary to design environmentally friendly and energy efficient housing. Good housing requires proper thermal environment, air velocity, air quality, lighting and acoustics.
Department of Built Environment and Building Service Engineering is established with excellent faculty and laboratory to educate high quality master degree students who can lead the trend of future housing.
