About Graduate School
Purpose of Establishment
In welcoming the 21st century which emphasizes quality of life, the Graduate School of Housing and Urban Planning aims to combine and integrate the accumulated working knowledge of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation and the research achievements of the Land & Housing Institute to the systematic education system of the university. We will cultivate a high-quality professional workforce specialized to lead the housing industry and culture, and enhance the international competitiveness of the housing industry through joint research development and education in the industry, university, and research institute. We will form quality living environments and achieve a housing culture of world-class quality.
Objective of establishment
- Achieve a world-class high quality workforce cultivation system for the housing industry, which combines the education system of the university, the working knowledge of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation, the research knowledge of the Land & Housing Institute, and the professional technology of related industries.
- Establish an education and research system to create an innovative housing culture which is one of the pillars of a cultural project and is the key to national competitiveness in our future society.
- Revive the construction industry which had slowed down after entering into the international construction market of Middle East Asia, by pioneering a world construction market based on the record and experience of global level housing construction.
- In preparation for unification, predict the housing problems of a unified Korea, and prepare a method to effectively respond to various issues.
- Maximize the completeness of education with multidimensional education which includes theory, research participation, and practical fieldwork.
- Invite experts from each area of housing industry and culture as affiliated professors to activate empirical education and joint research.
- Share facilities and equipment for experiment and research to improve the educational and research environment. Joint promotion of low-cost and effective housing related to research and development.
- Provide reeducation and training opportunities as specialized professional courses, and provide opportunity to improve the quality of the general housing culture

The Graduate School of Housing aims to combine and integrate the accumulated working knowledge of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation and the research achievements of the Land & Housing Institute to the systematic education system of the university. We will cultivate a high-quality professional workforce specialized to lead the housing industry and culture, and enhance the international competitiveness of the housing industry through joint research development and education of the industry, university, research institute, and government. We will form a quality living environment and achieve a housing culture of world-class level.

- Establish foundation for future residential life through integration of science technology, culture, and policy responding to changes in society
- Development and research of technology needed for housing planning, design, production, and maintenance, for conservation of the global environment, energy resources, and safe and comfortable residence and housing culture
- Grow into a global education research institute in the housing area which provides the systematic education and research system of the university, the working knowledge and research achievements of Korea Land and Housing Corporation, and the professional technology of relevant industries
- Cultivate a housing professional workforce to pioneer and lead in the world construction market based on superior housing construction experience
- Develop policies to predict and effectively respond to the housing issues of a unified Korea
